Vulcan announces COVID-19 Vaccination Incentive Program

To the Vulcan Family:

I am excited to announce Vulcan’s COVID-19 Vaccination Incentive Program.

Throughout the last 18 months, we have stayed consistent with our culture by putting two very important tenets of The Vulcan Way—people and safety—first. We have closely monitored pandemic conditions and Centers for Disease Control recommendations, and then regularly modified policies and procedures to protect the health and safety of our employees and their families while running our business and serving our customers.

At this point in the pandemic, it is clear that vaccination against COVID-19 offers each of us and our families the best protection against serious illness and death, reduces transmission rates and limits the impact the virus can have on our business.

Vaccination is also going to make it possible to get back to normal and make the best aggregates company in the world even better. I’m eager for all of us to interact, build relationships, mentor, collaborate and communicate in person. Our culture is what drives our continuous improvement. Returning to normal will strengthen many tenets of our culture including inclusion, employee ownership, vision, creating customer value and making it fun.

Our goal is for all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless they have a qualifying medical or religious reason to not be vaccinated against the virus.

Each employee fully vaccinated prior to October 1 is eligible to earn up to $1,000 in individual and team-based cash incentives:

“Vaccination is also going to make it possible to get back to normal and make the best aggregates company in the world even better.”

  • Individual incentive: Every person vaccinated, prior to October 1, will receive $500.
  • Team incentive: An additional $500 will be awarded to each vaccinated person whose plant location or support department achieves an 80% vaccination rate as of October 1st. Local leadership will define the team members.

Vaccinated employees will also continue to have access to the COVID-19 Pay program available should they become ill, need to quarantine or are caring for someone with COVID-19.
